Funding and Fees

At kinderzimmer, our daily fees cover everything your child needs during their time with us. This includes care from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM, nutritious meals, snacks, formula for infants, nappies, wipes, and extracurricular activities.

We are open for 51 weeks each year, closing only on bank holidays, three staff development days (dates are issued far in advance), and one week between Christmas and New Year. A minimum attendance of two full days per week is required, with at least one day being either Monday or Friday.

Discounts are available: an 8% reduction for the eldest child when a sibling attends the same setting, and a 10% discount for children attending full-time (five days per week). Please note, discounts cannot be combined.

Invoices are issued by the 20th of each month for the upcoming month, and payments are required via direct debit by the 1st. Refunds are not offered for absences due to sickness or holidays, as your child’s place remains reserved. Fees are reviewed annually in July to account for operating costs, with any adjustments communicated in advance and applied from the September invoice onward.

To see the fees for your preferred nursery location, please visit the dedicated webpage in our ‘Locations’ tab.

How does funding work at kinderzimmer?

How does funding work at kinderzimmer?

Government funding can help with childcare costs for children aged 9 months to 5 years. For children aged 3–5, every family is entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare per week (570 hours annually), which can increase to 30 hours for eligible families. For younger children, funding eligibility depends on specific criteria.

Since kinderzimmer operates year-round (as oppose to term-time only), funding is spread across 51 weeks, resulting in fewer funded hours per week (e.g., 15 hours becomes 11.8 hours weekly). Although you will receive fewer funded hours per week, you will recieve funded hours per year. Additional fees will apply for extra hours beyond the funding allocation.

If you qualify for funding, this can be applied from the term after you meet all the eligibility criteria for the entitlement you are applying for. These terms begin on 1 January, 1 April and 1 September. If your child is between 9 months-23 months, this is dependant on the borough the nursery is based in. Please reach out to your local nurseries community manager. Once you qualify for this funding, please pass on your code to your nurseries Community Manager who will then be able to apply this funding for you.

If your child is over 3 and you will be using the 15 hours funding, this is automatically applied by the community manager, and no code will need to be supplied.

9-23 Months

If eligible, children can claim 15 hours funding from September 2024, which totals 570 hours per year. This will increase to up to 30 hours funding from September 2025.

2-3 Years

If eligible, children can claim 15 hours funding from September 2024, which totals 570 hours per year. This will increase to up to 30 hours funding from September 2025.

3-5 Years

After their third birthday, all families in England are eligible for a total of 570 hours per year, that you can use flexibly (subject to T&C’s). Some families are eligible for a further 570 hours, and this can be used on a plan of 3 days or more per week.

Settling In

Settling In

We offer free settling in sessions, that will vary in time and parental involvement, and which will commence a week prior to your preferred start date. We find the majority of children will feel fully settled within three sessions and, upon reflection with both parent and key person, will then continue to begin their full-day plan the following week.

We recognise that some children will settle more readily than others, with factors such as their age and stage of development, and the amount of time they have spent away from home and their parents, all contributing.
As a result, we look to create a partnership with our parent(s), or guardian(s), and their child’s key person to determine how long the settling period will be.

Registration and Place offer

Registration and Place offer

To begin registrations, you must have completed an enquiry form, which can be found here. You will then receive a follow up email with links to book an introductory call or nursery visit.

After your visit, you will be invited to register for a place and pay a non- refundable registration fee of £200. Subject to our availability, we will send you a formal offer letter or offer for you to join our waiting list. If we’re unable to find a place that matches your preferences, your child will remain on our waiting list until a suitable place becomes available, or if you request them to be removed. Offers are typically offered 3 months in advance of your preferred start date.

Upon receiving our place offer, we ask you accept the place within 48 hours and make the payment of a refundable £400 deposit. This deposit will be then deducted from your final invoice before leaving kinderzimmer.

Waiting List Guarantee

If we’re unable to offer you a place within 3 months from the preferred start date in your registration form, and you wish to withdraw your position on our waiting list, you are entitled to request a refund of any paid registration fee upon withdrawal from the waiting list. Should, at any time, you wish to re-register for the waiting list, the registration fee will be payable again.
